About
What’s My Deal?

Allow me to introduce myself– my name is Lillian Adler. It’s nice to meet you!
Ever since I was a kid, nothing has dazzled me quite like “show business.” Hollywood, it seemed, was where the eccentrics and dreamers of the world came together to create all of our biggest trends, freshest ideas, and most culture-defining art. As I got older, my childlike wonder evolved into actual career aspirations. While earning my BS in Communication Studies at Emerson College, I took on a number of film and media-based internships and extracurriculars. Since graduating in 2021, I have flung myself headfirst into the film industry. I am all about taking every opportunity that comes my way, and as a result, have had tons of amazing experiences.
I am obsessed with anything that allows me to stretch my wings creatively. These days, it’s all about music, entertainment, and fashion, and so that’s what you will find here on my blog!
With college now behind me and my future a great and exciting unknown, I have fully dedicated this chapter of my life to learning all I can about the industry through hands-on experience, networking with like-minded, passionate individuals, and of course, continuing to build experience.

My Areas of Expertise
Communication
While earning my BS in Communication Studies at Emerson College, I studied the industry and gained diverse experience in film, music, and media internships. As such, I have unique insight when it comes to communication through the lens of entertainment. I understand that at the root of all effective communication is storytelling.
Good storytelling allows us to not only consume information, but experience it. It can strike an emotional chord with, giving us something to engage with. Ultimately, storytelling is what can compel an audience into action, and create real change.
PUBLIC RELATIONS | Emerson College
Public Relations is all about problem-solving, communicating ideas, adding new perspectives, and telling stories. In 2020, I entered the Globcomm International Public Relations Competition as a U.S. Representative and virtually collaborated with students from all over the world to create a communication plan meant to increase awareness of and travel to Lithuania. Our fresh, innovative ideas led us straight to victory and we took away the first place prize.
Our approach was to capitalize on Lithuania’s native resources, showcasing its beautiful natural landscape and national culture to the world. We marketed for the current moment, using social media influencers to raise awareness online. In the end, we were invited to Lithuania to meet our colleagues in person, and our winning communication plan was selected by the Lithuanian government to expand its global outreach.
Music
Music has always been one of my greatest passions, and I am endlessly inspired by its ability to evoke emotion. However, it’s only been in these last few years that I have seriously considered music as a business.Musician | Composer

ARTIST BRAND MANAGEMENT | Emerson College
In lieu of taking the traditional Communication Studies senior capstone course, I opted to conduct a self-directed study on artist development and branding. This route, though extremely uncommon, allowed me to focus my energy on a project that was far more exciting and relevant to my resume.
For years, I have co-produced and written songs with my sister, and so I challenged myself to not only work with her as a musician, but as her brand manager. Working towards the Spotify release of her first single, “Out Of My Mind,” a song we wrote together, I analyzed the marketplace and competitors, developed marketing and advertising strategies, helped create designs and layouts for advertising, oversaw promotional activities, and evaluated how she could appear to a wider consumer base.
Music Marketing & Publishing Intern | Crooked Paintings Records
My direct study caught the attention of Crooked Paintings Records, a boutique record label in Los Angeles, and as part of Emerson LA, the school’s competitive entertainment business program, I was hired as a marketing and publishing intern.
I made an impact assisting the A&R department with talent scouting and participating in the music publishing, artist development, management, and marketing processes. I was able to utilize my communication and graphic design skills, creating websites and marketing graphics for artists and album release campaigns, and contribute my own ideas.
In one particular case, my efforts helped to quadruple an artist’s monthly Spotify listeners! I made a point to record this as a case study; feel free to check it out below!
Film
Being one of the top film schools in America, I was determined to take advantage of every opportunity Emerson College presented. Some of my favorite classes included Theatre into Film, Film Criticism, Writing The Feature Film, and Writing For Television, where I was taught the fundamentals of screenplay structure and produced original content and spec scripts. Check out my IMDb to see what I have been up to since graduating!Casting Director | Emerson College
Outside of class, it wasn’t hard to become immersed in the school’s vibrant film community, building connections, assisting with the production of student films, and serving as the Casting Director for two productions, After (2020), a short film, and Sucker (2020), a limited series.
Casting Intern | Boston Casting
As a casting intern at Boston Casting, I gained industry experience working alongside casting directors and assisting the CEO. My main responsibilities included meeting the administrative demands of the office and acting as a liaison between the clients, the casting directors, and the talent. I found the direct work with clients to be particularly rewarding and managed to establish personal relationships with many who would often ask for me by name. While overseeing the front desk, I received all incoming calls, booked auditions, created casting breakdowns, and often filled out Taft-Hartley reports and other necessary paperwork. I particularly enjoyed being tasked with reading scripts and doing coverage, as well as serving as an Audition Reader.

I took every opportunity tI could to gain industry knowledge, and found that I loved working as a background actor on set. Keep your eyes peeled for my appearance in Free Guy!
I also prioritized leadership, volunteering to train incoming interns and revamping the intern handbook.
When given the chance to come to the office an extra day a week to assist with a mysterious project, I jumped at the chance. I was given the responsibility of recruiting contestants for a new reality adventure show on a major broadcasting network. As a result of my efforts, eleven of our candidates were selected for the series. Overall, the internship proved to be an invaluable experience, giving me my first real taste of what working in entertainment could be like.
